Repetition and Practice
Sometimes I think the most important thing I have learned in this life is learning to practice.
I took a weekly music lesson from age 5 yo with my mother, followed by many other teachers, all the way through grad school.
My mother taught a no fail methodical way of practicing with lots of repetition for tiny steps.
It worked out all the details along the way.
I find that I have a new application for practice when I receive a message through inner listening.
In order to honor the Universe, I am impelled to take my tiny steps toward my goal.
I practice inner listening regularly, and consistently take my tiny steps.
It works out all the details along the way.
Nothing happens too soon or in a sloppy manner.
There is no rush, but I must respond when I receive Guidance.
It is part of my contract with the Universe Who Loves Me.
Then, I am able to reach the goal revealed during my inner listening time.
I have to ignore distractions or even fight them off.
I have one priority.
To honor the Universe.
It cares for me, guides me, nurtures me, comforts me.
It strengthens me, persistently demanding that I go up Higher.
It stays with me, never deserting me, patiently waiting for me to listen once again.
Even my “lows” are higher now, because I have established a higher baseline.
The Universe expands my horizon in the way most useful to It.
As I listen and take my tiny steps, my life expands in joyful and generous ways.
When I learned a new musical piece, I knew what is was supposed to sound like, but I had no idea what it would feel like to play it.
Through repetition and practice of high ideals, I am experiencing the same sensation of moving toward a goal but with unexpected enjoyment of living in it.
