Enjoying My Own Company
The first thing I realized was that I enjoy my own company.
I can spend hours reading a book or cooking or just thinking my own thoughts.
I can walk in Nature or just look out the window and listen to birdsong.
What I appreciate most is that I have learned to calm myself when I get agitated.
I have even refined what I take in around me to avoid getting agitated.
The news, advertising, conversation about illnesses, despair.
I look for the healing elements which I have learned to apply for myself.
I give myself permission to discover what I love and to do it.
I am able to make uplifting contributions.
How people respond to uplifting conversation is indicative of their life philosophy.
If they add to the upliftment, I feel at home talking with them.
If they bring the conversation back to disturbance or despair, I know to limit my time with them.
My state of mind is too precious and too important to be dragged down.
I am always happy to explore solutions.
I have seen them over and over again in my life as I have been lifted out of despair.
I know solutions are available with enough compassion and devotion.
I am committed to continuing to find my own solutions and to sharing them.
I am delighted when someone lets me know that I have added to the upliftment of their day.
I hear the healing messages for myself in deep aloneness.
These messages comfort, calm and guide me.
They come in practical ways, as simple as avoiding a traffic jam, or as deep as reminding me of the present moment and moving me out of painful memories.
My aloneness lets me hear that I am not alone.
It reminds me of my connection to my Higher Power.
It connects me with resources beyond my own imagination or experience.
I move myself into a deep reservoir of resources and comfort through being alone.
