Expectations for the World

Shared Global Vision –

Expectations for the World

We can turn away from the limitations we hear about in the news.

There are other ways to interpret the vast resources available to all of us on this earth.

I read about them in “Drawdown”, by Paul Hawken, with an analysis of how to conserve and create specific resources all over the world.

I am drawn to writers and speakers who have a generous worldview.

I am grateful they send their ideas into the atmosphere around them.

I love hearing about innovations for collecting moisture from the air.

I love hearing about recycling tires to build insulated houses and to create long-wearing sandals.

I love learning about Intentional Communities and Co-ops and Transition Towns.

I love learning about co-operative manufacturing projects.

I love learning about Mandragon, Spain, an entire co-operative city.

I love learning about Damanhur Intentional Community in Italy with its own currency.

I love learning about the Eco-Camps which are being established all over the world.

There are so many ways being demonstrated that work on small scales.

The solutions offered for large scales also have many of the technologies in place waiting to be applied through the right mind-set.

The expectations we give ourselves depend on the difference between the current world view we are living through and possibilities offered by other world views.

Thinking in terms of a generous Universe, we can adopt good practices.

We can apply generous thinking to our neighborhoods and expand our work based on the results we experience.

This changes our expectations as we see new/old co-operative models working once again.

We can participate in grassroots movements which recognize the importance of each of us and implement this philosophy in community gardens, skills training and valuable community projects.

We can look to the models offered by the Transition Town movement with its hundreds of local variations on how to supply all the needs of a local community.

I have great expectations for the world when I look at what is working.
