A practice of travel

Your Diamond Mind –

A practice of travel

When we desire to travel, we are opening our minds to new experiences.

We look forward to what we may see, taste and learn.

We can begin this expansion mentally, as we study travel books and watch travel videos.

We can try out the feel and sound of phrases in another language.

All of this lays the groundwork for our travel experiences.

When we actually get to a destination, we are immersed in a new feeling.

Some of it may be pleasant, some of it may feel uncomfortable.

As we become accustomed to transportation, grocery stores, the new sights and sounds, we appreciate the contrast to our own country.

The longer we stay in a new place, the more familiar it becomes.

This happens over and over again.

We adjust.

We also know that when we go to a new place, we  will deal with all the new steps once again.

A practice of travel allows us to be light on our feet, to be ready to change.

We become more alert to those who are helpful to us.

There is a special quality that we feel.

It is always there.

People feel our receptivity to their culture.

They notice that we have taken the time to learn a few words of their language.

When we make the effort to move ourselves into a new part of the world, we are trusting that we will have a good experience.

I love discovering what is different and what is the same when I travel.

After taking in so many new things, I am grateful for the quiet time to reflect.

I am grateful for the simple connections while I am having a cup of tea and sketching.

I enjoy observing how families interact.

There is beauty everywhere, and comfort and the desire for well-being between all of us.
