Awareness through expanding

Shared Global Vision –

Awareness through expanding

We can expand our awareness by sharing our skills.

As we experience the needs in our community, we can share the solutions we are learning about.

We can introduce constructive ideas in an informal setting such as regular pot luck dinners.

Solutions are often available as everyone pools their skills.

By creating a list of neighbors and their skills, we can recommend resources to those who have particular needs.

We can be aware of co-operative efforts and participate in them.

We can initiate community projects over a long period of time as we learn to get to know our neighbors and build trust.

We can spend leisure time together at the park.

We can build outward from where we live.

We can share through bookclubs and through playgroups.

We can let each neighbor know that we would like to get to know them.

We can learn their story and find out about their skills and needs by asking them a list of questions.

We can let our neighbors know that we are starting a story-sharing time.

We can be aware that we are all dealing with challenges.

As we walk through our neighborhood, we can share our feeling of uplifting well-being.

We can gradually build new friendships and trust.

We can widen our circle as we consistently, over a long period of time, reintroduce ourselves as partners in our neighborhoods.

We can work on a community garden, donations to a food bank, planting nut trees and other food forest species in our parks.

We cna set up babysitting co-ops and errand services.

And because so many people are suffering and just want to be left alone, we can send them our love when we think of them or walk past their house.

We can build a sense of unity and community as we expand our awareness.
