Young Persons Mentor/Uplifted Parenting –
Home Organization
I see those who can create the comfort of home through organization as miraculous.
Those approaches which include everyone in the household are best.
Everyone makes a contribution in a unified way to create a good feeling.
One of my heroes is the mother of two of my students.
Her gentle approach with her children, whom she was also homeschooling, was very consistent.
When I visited their home to give some extra lessons, I saw the most beautiful layout of curriculum materials for the children.
Another hero of home organization is FLYlady.net. (Finally Loving Yourself)
She starts with one simple task and it is always her referral point.
Her way of supporting those who follow her schedule is very uplifting and funny and light-hearted.
She is real and down-to-earth.
Her skills are possible for anyone to do in fiteen minute increments.
It took me several months, but I was able to reduce all the paperwork lying around in stacks in my house to a small, manageable, current amount.
I appreciate the fact that “stuff” can be managed.
It can be prioritized. It can be released.
We need only to surround ourselves with beautiful, meaningful things.
We can discard what is too overwhelming to take care of.
We can free ourselves for more enjoyment with less clutter.
Step-by-step we can build consistency in how we care for our home.
Step-by-step, we teach our children their part, and increase it as they are ready to assume more responsibility.
Step-by step, we feel the relief of more freedom and happiness.
Step-by-step we do more fun activities.
We become our own heroes of home organization.
