Loved Cherished Adored –
Personal Standards
I enjoy maintaining my behavior in a way which is uplifting and responsible.
It shows good taste to be courteous and respectful.
It opens doors to interesting conversation with differing points of view.
As we share our ideas, we release practical inspiration.
We cut through the despondency and despair and frustration.
There is another way to look at life.
We all have an important contribution to make.
We are all worthy to consider the kind of world and society we want to live in.
It begins with us.
Whatever we share uplifts or depresses the world view.
Every moment of peace in a deep breath, defuses a little bit of the tension.
As we release our peace into the environment around us, others feel it and add to it.
We create calm right where we are standing.
We prevent escalation of tensions.
We make room for enjoyable conversation while we are waiting in line.
We notice what we have in common.
We appreciate our shared situation.
As we do this throughout our neighborhood, we create opportunities for service.
We can gather our energies for a community project, such as a garden or a playgroup.
We can become vigilant for signs of sadness or lonliness in our neighbors.
We can call on them with a batch of cookies, and open the conversation.
We can sit in the front yard and greet them as they walk by.
We can make a point to always have something to share, a card, a flower, something uplifting.
It says that the person is seen, recognized as worthy of inclusion in the community.
And as they learn to trust this, it will defuse any more build up of tensions.
