 Increase Your Ability

You can increase your ability to solve problems and help heal the world through humility.

Naturally, the Universe is in charge.

When you listen within, you become aligned with how you can contribute.

Your attention starts the communication.

You feel the Presence through the ideas which come to you.

The desire to take a tiny step of action puts you in motion when you respond to it.

The humility to take tiny step after tiny step increases.

You realize that you are tuning into something much bigger than you.

Your Higher Power sees a much farther range than you can.

Your humility enables you to trust the Guidance of tiny steps.

You become assured of your direction even when you are moving by instinct.

Your intuition is the way the Divine communicates with you.

Releasing your opinions and your experience allows you to receive.

There is nothing blocking the way when humility sweeps it all away.

We are able to relax in confidence and trust.

We are able to respond in a gentle and obedient way.

This creates real power as we feel the calm which pervades our entire body.

Humility, trust and calm are a gracious way to proceed.

The result is that without pressure, our ability increases.

We do not have to push ourselves.

We are naturally happy and excited and motivated to do the work.

Our good ideas follow in a harmonious flow.

Surprising coincidences appear.

We gain a reputation for excellence.

We find solutions and put them in action in a harmonious and uplifting way.

 I honor myself

I live in prestige through my consistent good character.

I uplift myself by maintaining good standards of behavior.

I honor others through courtesy.

I am grateful for the many opportunities which present themselves for service.

My life is more than my own.

I am here to perceive and receive good and to share it.

Others feel the presence of good and bring it out in their own lives.

Prestige has an uplifting influence when it is available to all.

We live a life of prestige through our uplifting life practices.

We command respect through our community outreach.

We encourage others through our example.

Even though there are many challenges, we can meet them with dignity.

Our ability to listen within gives us access to resources beyond ourselves.

We are able to find and share comfort.

We are able to be reassured and reassuring.

The weight of my accomplishments is in proportion to the good I share.

Through my great respect for my Source, I receive respect.

My practice to follow inner Guidance uplifts my stance in my community.

I am able to carry out my goals.

I am trustworthy.

I am always willing to teach and to share.

I cultivate those aspects of character which are freely available to all of us.

I take the idea seriously that we are here to encourage and uplift.

Through cooperation we  are able to pool our resources and respect everyone’s skills.

This gives prestige to everything we accomplish together.

Expressing my Ideas

I have to express my ideas in order to be comfortable.

I move out of discomfort when I start to write.

I was so uncomfortable with my life when I discovered writing.

I started in a spiral notebook.

I wrote all day.

I poured out my discomfort and when I went back to type up my notes, I discovered that what I had written was the answers to healing my discomfort.

Funny, how the Universe works that way.

I now have several years of uplifting blog content.

I wrote for nine years, then the flow stopped and was redirected into learning how to draw.

Three years later, the flow started back up and I have three years of inspirational art and affirmations which I produced during that time.

I am comforted by giving.

I give of my heart’s rich overflow.

What I learned through healing from my many dark years, is available to encourage others to invest in their own healing steps.

My steps are the way I invested my time.

How are you investing your time?

You have many gifts to receive and to share.

Your healing is what is giving you a foundation for expression.

Never doubt that your voice is important.

It is the expression of your insights and vitality.

It is your contribution to what society needs so desperately.

Accept the ideas which come to you.

Write them in a journal. They are your power.

Let them lead you into a greater feeling of comfort, first for yourself, then, for others.

How I express myself

My self-expression begins by listening within.

Until I focus inward, I do not know my own mind.

I am aware of everything going on around me.

I am aware of opinions and advertising and stories.

Within, in my quiet listening, I feel my connection to my Higher Power.

I am seen and heard in the Infinite Universe.

The ideas which I receive from this divine connection are the ones for my highest expression.

All of my good character comes from this inner connection.

All of the ways I interact with others is inspired by my relationship with the Divine.

Every detail of every transaction is assured by the  power of the Infinite.

I am that expression.

All that is good comes to me through inner listening.

I take my tiny steps as directed from within.

I can feel the calm trust as I move.

My well-being is always at hand.

I work from a sense of well-being at my core.

I am uplifted and inspired.

My day is full of happiness and satisfaction.

Everyone around me is affected by my calm and uplifting attitude.

My day goes better when I am conscious of my inner connection.

I can relax even as I am attentive to all the details.

I am confident and assured in my excellent work.

My voice is heard in its entirety.

My voice is heard in its certainty and confidence.

I speak to effective results.

Where you belong 

When there is no admission to a particular group, it is simply because you do not belong on their playing field.

Even if you are participating in the same group or organization and share many of the same beliefs and practices, you have a different, more expansive, expanded way of expressing them.

You belong in the Universe that gave you those ideas and practices.

You may find yourself refining and reforming them as you stop resisting and go ahead and move where you are being guided.

Your commitment to your practice redefines it for you.

Your life responds.

You move naturally in the direction of the most inspiration, the most uplifting comfort.

Not the comfort of the familiar painful path.

You have received better.

You feel your worth through your new practice.

It really draws you to it.

You find your footing as you balance in your new dance.

The pain of not belonging is transformed into radiance as you find your way.

What is no longer necessary in your life drops away and you make room for more of what your practice brings you.

You are renewed.

You are a new person.

What did not make sense to you no longer has to.

Your new Universe is full of your new gifts.

Your gifts are appreciated and recognized here.

You are seen as worthy and uplifted.

You have crossed what divided you from the expression of your gifts, and you are free to revel in them.

Grow and expand and dance.

A New Perception

After years of thinking of ourselves financially in a certain way, (we were two teachers raising seven children in a combined family), I got curious over what we had spent on our children’s education.

I was astounded at the figures that emerged. For one child, we spent over $20,000.

The total for two other children combined was  $22,000.

In addition to their education, we were paying a mortgage to buy land for a summer camp.

I began to think of us as more substantial financially than I had before.

Our land became a retirement retreat for us, and later got us to Europe, where we retired permanently.

I gained more respect for us.

It is astounding how the perceptions around us can shape our perception of ourselves.

We were always working to expand our income.

In some of my spiritual study, I was led to consider how to expand my service, my “outgo”.

This has resulted in obeying the directive I received when I began trying to fix my life.

I was directed to GIVE MORE, (written in double high lines of all capital letters).

Then I was supplied with something to give, inspirational writing and drawing over a number of years, and which continues to this day.

This became the basis for my healing of childhood trauma.

Our life is more than we think.

It goes far beyond a certain dimensional view.

Through the demands placed on us, we learn to “give more”.

It is like athletic training.  It adds up until the athlete becomes an “overnight success”.

Instead of scraping by, we actually have a reservoir of service which continues to sustain us.

It is what we develop by being willing to give more.

It takes us beyond what we think we can do. 

It builds a foundation for success and abundance.

Healing of Trauma and IBS  (Trigger Warning)

When I was six years old, my father began raping me annally.

For the next eight years, I simply shut down emotionally, by numbing out and dissociating.

I got good grades and excelled in music.

When I was fourteen, I broke my finger, and my father left me alone.

That was the end of that torture.

I always thought I had grown up in a normal family until I was fifty years old.

I read an account of a woman who had a memory come back to her decades later.

Her symptoms sounded familiar to me, – looking for exit signs, having emotional breakdowns over certain holidays, being triggered by things that did not make sense.

Gradually, my memories started coming back.

It was intolerable.

For six years, I was in denial, emotionally overwrought, but somehow able to function.

After I rolled my jeep, I realized I needed to get hold of myself.

In my spiritual study, I began listening for the key.

I realized I was supposed to prosper, even though I did not know how.

I began journalling to figure out how to fix my life.

One day, as I writing in my sprial notebook journal, the words came “GIVE MORE”.

I wrote them in double high capital letters.

I had no idea how to GIVE MORE.

I had left my job after neglectful treatment.

My body refused to function normally.

I had been dealing with IBS for several years.

It got worse and became a bleeding ulcer.

All this got turned around over many, many steps of healing.

It seemed like I would never find the key.

But everything kept adding up until I did.

In addition to my spiritual study, I had therapy.

In the therapy, I asked what the optimum outcome should be.

My therapist told me, it would be well-being for everyone, including the perpetrator.

That was news to me.

I kept listening for the next step.

I started being more patient with myself.

I told myself that my unexplained reactions were perfectly understandable, even if I did not understand them.

Later, things began to make sense.

But I still had to heal from them.

I applied every new technique that I could.

I learned about many new ways to help myself.

They all contributed to my healing.

Finally, it boiled down to one thing.

Not even resentment nor irritation about what I had gone through was allowed.

I had to drop even the tiniest bit of emotion about it.

That was the final step of healing.

Now I can go where I want, when I want.

All the past symptoms are erased.

That is the story of my healing.

There is a much longer story, with all the steps I took.

But that will come later.

In the meantime, for right now, I am celebrating.

Creativity for Mental Balance

As we give ourselves more room for personal expression, it balances the duties and influences we carry around.

We respond to requirements on our time.

We respond to hidden influences in our culture and from our childhood.

We can begin to notice what comes up for us when we consider the idea of personal expression.

We are here as unique individuals.

When we are starved for personal expression, it makes us feel bad.

When we begin to feed the need for personal expression, it moves us into our natural, intended state.

We all have so many opportunities, once we begin creating.

We find more and more ways to play.

We start to spend our valuable time in original thinking and playing.

These creative ideas fuel our daily existence in an uplifting way.

We are able to be more alive at work.

We can even begin to discover a way to spend more of our time in a happy state of creativity.

At some point, we may be led to develop ideas which best express our uplifting nature full time.

Our tiny steps lead us gracefully into happiness.

We achieve mental balance on the side of happiness through creativity.

We give our ideas room to flow.

They grow until they take up more of our time.

We live in a place of happiness.

We are able to fulfill our duties and society’s demands on us with a more uplifted sense.

We see ourselves as competent and confident.

Living as who we really are adds immensely to whatever we do.

We bring authenticity into our lives and release the burdens.

Comfort for the Uncomforted

Where do you find comfort for your anguish?

When the pain becomes too unbearable, you must walk away.

Your capacity for pain is overwhelmed.

You are allowed to move into a dimension of peace, instead.

This is found in your quiet, inner listening.

Beneath all the messages and noise of pain, is the quiet of peace.

In the peace is your comfort.

It is possible to find the layer of peace underneath all the noise and messiness of pain.

Go there.

Live there.

Be there.

Be in the peace.

Let the peace take up more and more space in your heart and in your mind.

It will permeate your body.

Practice going into the peace.

It can become your permanent residence, the more you practice living there.

Anguish can only take up so much room.

Move out of that place.

There is another place for you to live, in the peace that is becoming yours.

No matter what your situation, your circumstances, your past, your opinions, your memories, you have the power to find that layer of peace and spend time there.

The Universe is listening and will keep opening up more peace for you.

You show your willingness to step away from all the pain when you realize there is a place of peace for you, and you go there.

Take your deep breath.

Move into the peace.

Balance of the physical and mental systems

We find our best balance when our physical and mental systems are healthy.

Having access to nutritious food allows our bodies to process it in the way they are designed.

Growing food in a way which nurtures and nourishes the planet, balances the planetary system.

It is good when we are all able to trust that our well-being is the guiding principle behind how we grow, produce and receive our food.

We may shop at organic grocery stores.

We may have a membership at a CSA, Community Supported Agriculture, farm.

We make choices which support our physical well-being.

We feel the difference in a calm, energetic and balanced body.

Our mental systems are best in balance when we treat others with dignity and respect and receive the same courtesies.

Discovering the power of “I love me” set me on the road to healing serious imbalance from negative conditions as a young child.

Creating a nurturing and uplifting atmosphere for learning contributes to mental well-being.

Supporting my music students was natural as I designed special ways for them to learn to read music.

They were able to be successful from the beginning and enjoy their confidence as I added on more and more complex elements.

In life, we can act from a compassionate basis, knowing that there are so many challenges to mental well-being.

As we create a nurturing household, we emerge from it with the uplifting practices to create nurturing communities.

We contribute to mental health every time we recognize each other as individuals.

We relieve tensions and uncertainties by interacting with each other in appreciative ways.

We are able to participate in cooperative playgroups, community gardens, and neighborhood potluck dinners.

We contribute to creating safe places for those in need through food banks and shelters.

We become aware of resources in our communities and explore solutions to chronic problems in order to contribute to systems of physical and mental well-being.
