Listening for Help and Guidance

The challenges of running a household are often insurmountable.

This is when humility can lead the way.

I have tried organizing chores, setting up schedules, arranging transportation, all while working multiple jobs, and planning menus, grocery shopping and cooking.

My level of tension and exhaustion was something I never could have anticipated.

I turned to some of my spiritual reference books.

The themes I discovered were “radical reliance”, “radiance”, and “humility”.

Pondering these ideas led me to relax.

My breathing became normal.

I realized that I had enough.

Enough resources and enough time.

I realized that my chores organization was sufficient.

Everyone knew what to do and how to do it.

I realized that we were all being fed on a regular basis.

I realized that we were all where we needed to be when required.

I was fulfilling my work obligations well.

I released the tension through pondering “radical reliance”.

We live in a Universe Which Loves Us.

I thought about “radiance”.

We radiate the qualities of light as we allow ourselves to rest and to receeve inspiration.

“Humility” opens us to the idea that we do not have to do it all ourselves.

There is a balance and a flow.

Every requirement for harmonious living comes to us.

We naturally expel tension and self-doubt when we focus on “radical reliance”, “radiance”, and “humility”.

These are unlimited resources and they are available to us all the time.

Upholding prestige

Living in a household where you are respected is a gift you can give yourself.

As you organize what needs to be done into routines, everyone takes part to contribute to living well.

You are giving yourself room for clear thinking and acting.

The normal everyday chores run themselves,  while you plan the special occasions and deal with emergencies.

This is not easy work.

It requires that you nurture yourself first in order to deal with the many demands of running a successful household.

It seems like society is structured in a way which makes it almost impossible to do this.

Listen deeply within and organize on the outside.

You can uphold the prestige of your household as you do this.

You command respect for your order and love.

You provide for special occasions.

You have resources for emergencies.

Your household knows they can depend on you.

They are used to upholding their duties.

This gives you the room to plan ahead and gather resources.

You become a community leader by your thoughtfulness and consideration.

Getting your own household in order gifts you with this freedom.

People trust your influence.

They are willing to follow where you lead.

Your household benefits from this prestige.

You are seen in a different light.

Your demonstrated ideas earn respect and others are willing to emulate what you do.

You are able to give more by being rested and respected.

Comforting My Household

When I need to comfort a member of my household, I listen within.

I stop trying to mentally revise and reconfigure the situation, and calm myself.

There is always an answer.

There are so many opinions that it is impossible to sift through them all.

The answer comes from my communion with Source.

In this way, I have been able to find lost children, algebra tutors, transportation, and better schooling situations.

I have been guided to track down resources for unusual needs.

I listen within for the courage to take decisive action.

I am impelled forward, even if it is new territory, and it always is.

There is sure footing when I am guided from within.

My comfort is seeing my children in safe situations with good companionship.

My comfort is seeing rapid healing take place.

My comfort is today’s answer for today’s need.

There will be new challenges.

I am comforted by the foundation of past answers.

I am comforted by the support of others who have been in the same situation.

I am comforted by others who have not been in the same situation, but who assure me that I will find my answers.

I am comforted by creating order in my home.

I am comforted by seeing my children take on more responsibility as they grow up.

My household benefits as each member receives comfort.

The atmosphere calms.

We can all take a sigh of relief.

We gather our forces for the next challenge, and the next.

I listen within to discern the next step of comfort.

Speaking Within the Household

Your voice is the voice of calm in your household.

From your daily practice of inner listening, you are able to impart calm to your household.

Everything you do sets the stage for calm.

Your orderly routines provide a way for everyone to contribute to harmony.

Your awareness of the factor of wholesome nutrition adds to the calm of everyone’s nervous system.

Your organization of transportation operates from the calm conviction that everyone is where they need to be in a timely manner.

Your voice is the atmosphere you convey.

It is always right for you to receive care and support from your household.

You recognize your role and its power.

You appreciate the effort it takes to manage resources in a calm way.

Your attitude conveys the assurance that all is well.

Even when it feels like you are running as fast as you can trying to keep up, your awareness of deep peace has an effect.

It allows you to approach the next day.

You are able to get the rest you need to think clearly.

You are able to stay centered even when everyone is pulling at you from different directions.

Your goal for peace and harmony within your household naturally guides you as you speak effectively.

Your calm management of resources expresses your voice of reassurance.

When you feel the voice of fear, you can turn to inner listening to get a different message.

The Infinite always has an active connection for you to access.

The Voice of the Infinite is a constant and comforting Guide.

As you turn to It more and more, Its guidance  provides for a harmonious flow throughout your household.

Your household maintains its harmony through the authority of your inner voice.

 Create the household of your desires

You belong in the household of your desires.

Despite many outside influences, your household is your place of peace.

The meditative grounding work you do each day infuses your household with the elements which you place there.

You infuse your household with peace, beauty, calm, happiness, order and fun.

You create the routines for maintaining the physical space.

You create the events for sharing at mealtimes.

You create family game night.

You create family outings to concerts and museums.

You create practice for good manners.

Everything in your good character belongs in your household.

This atmosphere allows you to deal with the elements which are brought in by other household members.

Your order counteracts the chaos of the outside world.

Your peace counteracts the harassment of advertising.

Your good manners counteract the lack of courtesies in others.

Your family game night maintains direct communication.

Your cultural activities embrace your family in uplifting emotional arts experiences.

Your enriched vocabulary gives your family access to reading and conversation.

Everything which you do enriches your household.

Your household expresses your standards.

Even if they are uncomfortable for some members of the household at times, these are the standards which contribute most to stability and harmony.

They are the basis for excellent work.

They provide the foundation for how your children present themselves to the world.

This is how you contribute to uplifting society and civilization.

Creativity for your household

I create the tone for my household.

When I am in an orderly frame of mind, I can establish an orderly household.

When I am upset, overwhelmed or in a state of confusion, my household feels it.

The underlying clarity I feel comes through in the routines which I have established for my household.

The way we care for our personal and common areas supports the atmosphere I have created.

The way we converse with each other and the courtesies we habitually express convey a feeling of respect and dignity.

This is the household I have created.

It requires consistent standards to maintain.

It requires constant vigilance against the confusion and disorder of the world.

We recreate our peace each time we follow through on our routines.

We create a wholesome and uplifting place to do our work.

We add many creative elements to our day and our work when we start out with peace.

It adds joy and delight to wherever we are.

We attract more joy and delight.

We celebrate our excellence.

We have room to receive creative ideas because our house and our life is in order.

We can discern what we need for each higher layer of expression because our base is secure.

Creativity lets us share our new projects with each other.

We have time to do them with enjoyment.

We have time to discuss them with their creators.

We are in a space of creative peace.

We add to our peace through doing what we love to do.

We interact in a loving and uplifting way.

We create safe haven for all our household.

Balance in the home systems

You create balance in the home systems when you engage everyone to make a contribution.

When you begin each day with the thought that everyone is a contributor, you remove the pressure from yourself.

You open yourself to practical ideas.

You may create a list of chores which you post in the kitchen for each person to check off.

You may have a morning gathering on the weekends and assign chores.

You may have a daily and weekly routine which everyone follows.

The balance is also created by family read-aloud time, family game night, and family movie night.

Having regular time to enjoy each other’s company is important for the balance in your home.

It is good to have resources for your children which they can access on their own.

I had a box of art supplies in a low kitchen cabinet for my children to use while I was teaching music lessons.

Part of the balance is returning unused supplies to the box.

As soon as children learn to read, they can read to themselves from the bookshelf in their room.

They can play outside where you can see them.

You can take them to the park along with something you like to do while they play.

They can help you in the kitchen as you prepare meals, setting the table, and later, clearing the table.

They can help you prepare their snacks.

A schedule is helpful while you have young children at home.

You can introduce puzzle time, block time, art time, reading time, even with picture books at first.

This gives you time to do what you need in small steps.

It teaches your children self-sufficiency.

They do not get overstimulated with media.

Take the steps to teach your children what to do and they will grow in self-sufficiency.

Your true nature at home

Sometimes there can be many challenges to expressing your true nature when you are at home.

The demands are considerable.

Your energy only lasts so long.

What is the way to make room for your true nature and that of every other member of the household to feel good and have room to glow?

The way to keep balance in the household is through routines.

These keep the house clean and uncluttered.

There is room to express appreciation for everyone in a calm and beautiful environment.

As you nurture yourself and rest and follow your personal routines, you are able to express your true nature.

Everything you do to bring your household into order gifts the true nature of all household members.

The routines of household maintainence set up a dependable rhythm.

Everyone is comforted when they know what to expect.

Hugging and expressing appreciation when the child is learning to do their part, creates an uplifting expectation.

Taking the time to do each chore gently sets the atmosphere.

Moving in a caring way as we dust, vaccume, wash dishes, fold clothes relaxes the atmosphere.

Playing relaxing music can add to moving gently and in a caring way.

Joining together in household routines becomes a special bonding time.

It is not something to get over with.

It releases tension to know there is a household ritual.

It can be completed with a special meal, or signal family game time, read aloud time, or movie time.

The goal of expressing your true nature at home eliminates activities which interfere with it.

Everyone benefits from nurturing their true nature at home.

Embrace the Resistance

It is a challenge to establish a calm and orderly and harmonious household.

All the demands that are being made on us are often overwhelming.

As we steady our course, we are able to provide a steadying hand for others in our household.

Our growing conviction of calm results in practices which help steady our household.

Even if there is resistance, there is a gentle way forward.

We find the tiny steps that each one can take to begin the work of building a strong foundation.

The tiny steps become habitual as we nurture them over and over.

The tiny steps collect and accumulate into habits.

Everyone begins to pull their weight.

As they gain in competence, they gain in confidence.

The new foundation is taking hold.

A collective feeling of calm begins to pervade the household.

The calm spaces provide room for happiness.

Even the persistent confusion and distraction from the outside world finds resistance in the calm of an orderly household.

We gravitate to what comforts us.

Order and peace always prevail.

It is always worth it to return to the tiny steps we nurtured and to revisit them.

They are the power which resists confusion and establishes the order and peace and happiness we all crave.

Our routines and creativity give us the foundation and happiness that are possible.

It is always worth involving everyone in this practice.

Even the tiniest step towards order and harmony makes an impact.

It lodges deep inside in a place that is waiting for it within each individual.

It overrides the constant bombardment that resists peace and establishes the natural harmony of the household.

Power in the household

The power of the household is its harmony.

Harmony provides comfort and safety.

We are all dealing with the many events in our lives and our reactions and responses to them.

The power of harmony is vital.

Routines set up the basis for harmony.

A clean place to live, and the conscious awareness and responsibilities to carry them out, form the basis for a harmonious household.

Any reactions and responses to daily events take place over a foundation of harmony.

We are able to devote our clarity of thought to solving problems and dealing with emergencies when they arise.

We can count on time devoted to relaxation and conversation.

The power of household harmony to launch school projects and harmonious cookie drives carries over to our own ability to be excellent at work.

Our self-care and devotion to nurturing ourselves through rest contributes to the power of harmony in the household.

We are able to provide comfort for those in our care.

We are able to provide support and nutritious meals on an ongoing daily basis.

Everyone learns how to do the physical labor of household care over the underlying principle of household harmony.

This power carries over into the next generations.

The power of uplifting conversation contributes to household harmony.

We are able to measure our standards of harmony against the intrusions of confusion and disruption.

Children who are growing through their various stages intellectually and physically and emotionally find safe harbour in any instance of harmony.

The contrast is substantial, each time we can provide it.

There are so many challenges to household harmony that we can celebrate its’ power any time we see evidence of it.

We have set a good standard and it always provides an uplifting and harmonizing reference.
