Healing Messages 1.208 – Your body is not wrong.
There are so many advertisements which harass us to think of the body in certain ways.
With a normal intake of healthy food and moderate exercise, your body is perfect.
Your body is not supposed to be a certain shape or composed of certain dimensions.
When everyone made their clothes, they were all fit to order.
The standardization of pattern sizes, especially for women, was based on a very small sampling and arbitrary assignment.
The standardization of non-local food production has led to many health challenges.
There are plenty of nutrition studies and recommendations and guidelines to follow.
I came to the conclusion that my body is not wrong when I realized I was trying to force myself into a particular pattern of eating so that I could regain my youthful figure.
I was also trying to follow a diet that was not true to my ancestral lineage.
All the sculptures of women throughout the ages show them to be robust.
If there was a drought, there were emaciated bodies, and this affected men, women and children.
My body was so upset for so long I decided to fast until I was actually hungry.
It took me thirty hours. I then went to the grocery store and noted what I was hungry for.
In the course of my earlier dietary exploration, I had followed guidelines which removed my sugar craving and dependence on baked goods, including bread.
Doing this for a year, with such satisfying recipes, made it almost effortless.
So when I went to the grocery store, I was not motivated by sugar cravings.
I discovered what my body actually wanted and then I honored those calm messages and looked up a diet which corresponded to them.
There was a type of diet based on my preferred food choices.
Since then, my body is calm when I follow those guidelines.
I honor my lineage, and at the same time, I honor the earth and my body.
I have adjusted the clothing sizes I wear so that I am comfortable and non-judgemental about my size.
This is such a relief to move out of the line of harassment about my body.
